“H” Antenna
3-2
INSTALLATION
Note: As the support poles are lowered into place, additional wire may need to be unreeled from
the wire coil.
Note: If the antenna wire is end fed, the wire is pulled tight and fed directly to the insulator at the
antenna coupler. Steps 10 to 16 can be skipped in this case. If the antenna wire is center fed,
continue with step 10.
10. Pull the antenna wire tight and then mark the point where it passes through the last insulator
by pulling sharply toward the hinged end of the last support pole.
11. Add slack to the antenna wire by swinging the nearest corner pole inboard, then swing the
end pole inboard.
12. Attach the antenna wire to the end pole insulator at the point on the wire marked in step 10 as
per step 4.
13. Locate the point on the antenna wire where the feed point wire will be located and swing the
adjacent insulator poles inboard as required.
14. Hold 2 inches (5cm) of the free end of the feed wire against the antenna wire, secure with 2
split bolt connectors about 1 inch apart.
15. Pass the free end of the feed wire to the antenna coupler and temporarily secure the wire.
16. Lower all the antenna insulator support poles into place, ending with the corner poles.
