BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES

Ryobi lithium-ion batteries are designed with features that
protect the lithium-ion cells and maximize battery life.
If the tool stops during use, release the trigger to reset and
resume operation. If the tool still does not work, the battery
needs to be recharged.

TO INSTALL / REMOVE BATTERY PACK

See Figure 2, page 9.



Detach the cap by twisting the arrow toward the UNLOCK
icon.



Insert the battery pack in the direction shown. Make sure
the raised rib on the battery pack aligns with the groove
in the battery port. Press down on the battery pack to be
sure contacts on the battery pack engage properly.



Reattach the cap by placing it over the battery pack and
twisting the arrow to the LOCK icon, making sure the cap
is secure.



To remove the battery pack, twist the cap to open and
remove the battery pack from the battery port.



Do not attempt to use this tool if the battery cap is not
closed and locked.

STARTING AND STOPPING

See Figure 3, page 9.



Grasp the handle with either your left or right hand.



The  switch  trigger  and  the  lock  out  button  must  be

depressed simultaneously to begin blade movement.

WARNING:

Do not place hand between the blades. Placement of
your hand or fingers in this area could result in a shear
point injury.



To stop blade movement, release the switch  trigger.

CUTTING TIPS

See Figure 4, page 9.



Do not force the snips through dense material.

This can

cause the blades to dull and slow down. If the blades
slow down, reduce the pace.



Use caution when cutting metals or other materials where
cutting could result in jagged or sharp edges.



Only cut materials listed under applications.

OPERATION

WARNING:

Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are
assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when
not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious personal injury.

WARNING:

Do not allow familiarity with products to make you
careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second
is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

WARNING:

Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible
serious injury.

WARNING:

Do not use any attachments or accessories not
recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The
use of attachments or accessories not recommended
can result in serious personal injury.

in use or carrying at your side.
