APPLICATIONS

Surface finish for wood
To remove rust from steel surface as well as finishing.
CHOOSE SANDING PAPER CAREFULLY FOR EACH
APPLICATION FOR BEST OPERATION AND FINISH.
By taking the following steps, you can easily attach sanding
paper onto sander.

FITTING THE SANDPAPER

(1) Make sure the sandpaper is even with the edges and that

the dust collection holes in the base and sandpaper are
aligned and that the sandpaper is taut on the base.

(2) Lift the paper clamping levers to the open position and insert

the ends of the sandpaper  under the clamps.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure work piece is free of nails & other foreign objects
which could tear paper. Your sander starts and stops by

Warning: Always remove the electric cord from
the power supply when changing paper,
brushes, or when working on the unit.

Warning: This electric tool is in accordanc with
the relevant safety requirements. To assure
safety and reliability, all repairs should be
performed by an Authorised Service Centre or
other Qualified Service Organisations.

(3) Push both clamps down to the closed position ensuring the

sandpaper is taut on the base.

(4) If the sheet of sandpaper has not been punched, you can

use the puncher supplied with the tool to punch dust
collection holes in the sandpaper. Align the sanding pad
with the puncher and push down on the sander until the
puncher pierces the sandpaper. Then remove the puncher
from the sander

depressing and releasing the switch. For continuous operation,
press the lock button located on the left side of grip while switch
is depressed. Depress switch to release the lock.

Move the sander evenly over the entire area.  The weight of
sander alone is sufficient for normal use. Any excess pressure
will retard the sanding action, giving an uneven finish, and cause
extra wear to both tool and sanding paper.

Never allow sander to stay in one place too long, or excessive
material will be removed. Always start sander before applying it
to the workpiece.

The sander should never be turned off while resting on the work.
Lift sander from work and then turn it off. Do not use sander
without sanding paper, or rubber pad will be damaged. Take
care that your hand does not cover the air vents and make sure
oil or water does not come into contact with the motor.

DUST COLLECTION BAG

Your Ryobi Orbital Sander is equipped with a dust collection
bag. To attach, insert the plastic insert with the bag attached
into the back of the sander.

To empty dust bag, remove from plastic insert as shown.
