 SWITCH

Your jigsaw starts and stops by depressing and releasing the
On/Off  Switch. For continuous operation, press the Lock On
Switch while On/Off Switch is depressed.  Depress again to
release the lock.  (Fig 4)

 VARIABLE SPEED

Your Ryobi jigsaw is equiped with variable speed control to
allow selection of the correct speed for the material being cut.
(Fig 5)

 OPERATIONS

Never cover air vents since they must always be open for proper
motor cooling.

• Starting For accurate starting, reduce the cutting speed until
all the blade has entered the material.  Hold the base of tool in
firm contact with the work.

• Arc Cutting

In cases of small circle or arc cutting, reduce the cutting speed
compared to normal straight cutting.

(NOTE): Too much pressure may break the blade when cutting
arcs or circles.

• Metal Cutting

A cutting oil or emulsion for steel, a turbine oil for metallic
materials like aluminium should be used.

WARNING: Protective glasses should be
used to protect the operator ’s eyes when
cutting metal.

• Centre Cutting (Fig 6)

Cutting in the centre of a board can be done without first drilling

a starting hole.  Reset the base of the jigsaw on the work as

shown without the blade touching the work. Then slowly lower

the moving blade against the board. For materials other than

wood a starting hole must be drilled.

• Bevel Cutting (Fig 7,8,9)

Loosen the two hex socket head screw sat the base plate by

using the allen key and adjust the bevel adjustment scale to

the angle desired, then tighten the hex socket head screw firmly.

It is often difficult to cut at 45'. In such cases clamp the work.
