Page 5-4 Getting started
ERR-LED - This LED will be lit as an indicator for digital errors like:
confidential fail, lock, code, parity or validity. A control signal output is
provided on pin 28c (ERR).
OVR-LED - This LED will be lit as soon as the digital overload threshold
is reached. Threshold level, wordwidth and number of consecutive
samples can be adjusted in a wide range. A control signal output is
provided on pin 29c (OVR). Please note that this signal sums the
overload function of both channels.
LED: 44 [96] 48 - These LED´s will indicate the incomming sample rate
frequency 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. A sample rate of 96 kHz will activate
both LED´s. If the measured sample rate frequency does not match the
sample frequency information embedded in the AES/EBU status
information this will be indicated by blinking LED´s.
SLIDE SWITCH: L/10 ms - The use of this pushbutton or its equivalent
external function toggles the reading of the additional highlighted
bargraph between loudness (see Fig. 4-2, example 2) and 10 ms (see
Fig. 4-2, example 1) integrated level display. Either one reading will be
shown as a brighter bar on top of the normal unweighted (sample) level
display.
However when the 10 ms only external function control (see section 5.4,
pin 16a) is activated the L/10 ms slide switch (see Fig. 4-2, example 3)
has no function.
If the 10 ms mode is activated via an external switch it cannot be
disabled by the use of the internal switch or vice versa.
5.9. Control outputs
OVR (overload), ERR (digital transmission error) and MUTE (16 consecutive
samples with the content zero) flags are available for external controls.
5.9.1. Control output OVR
When an overload condition is registered in channel 1 or 2 this output is
switched to high. The condition is also indicated by separate OVERLOAD
LEDs for each channel on the front panel. The overload display conditions
must be set internally.
5.9.2. Control output ERR
When a digital error is registered in the receiver section (Confidence, Lock,
Code, Parity, Validity) this output is switched to high. This condition is also
signalled by the ERR LED on the front panel of the unit.
5.9.3. Control output MUTE
Registration of digital null (mute) signals is indicated by a high signal at this
output. The trigger period for this signal is 16 samples (~333 µs @ 48kHz).
