General
The
RS
motion detector system is an ideal outdoor security
system. It uses passive infra-red technology to detect heat
radiation within its sensing zone. At night, upon detection, the
system lights up the halogen lamp to illuminate the area. The
light-on period is fixed at three minutes. A built-in sensor turns
off the motion sensor during daylight hours to save energy and
lamp life.
Selecting a location
The higher the unit is mounted (up to a maximum of six metres
above ground level), the larger the detection area. Refer to the
zone coverage chart below (figure 2).
Note:
Sensitivity of the unit can be affected by temperature and
climatic conditions. Reflective surfaces e.g. pools of
water and swaying trees in the detection area may
falsely trigger the unit.
Mounting
1. Remove the four top housing screws using a screwdriver.
2. Position the bottom housing at desired location and make
markings on the wall through the three screw holes.
3. Drill the three marked points to about 40mm depth and insert
the screw pegs. Before mounting the bottom housing onto
the wall, the mains supply cable and optional slave lamp
loads cable need to be inserted through the wire gasket.
4. Place the bottom housing over drilled holes and screw it tight
with the three long screws provided.
