Daily checks

Carry out checks and service before use.

Keep

 the warning decals fully legible.

Clean

 any dirt from hydraulic cylinders

and grapple arms.

Remove

 foreign objects from the tool.

Check

 that cables, hoses and

accumulators are intact.

Check

 that the quick coupler, chassis

and bolted joints are intact.

Check

 the shank locks.

Greasing instructions

The grapple is fitted with sliding bearings

which have greasing intervals of up to

50 hours, depending on the environment.

When operating in dirty, dusty and

damp environments, we recommend

reducing greasing intervals to no more

than 16 hours to improve sliding bearing

durability.

Expander pins

Expander pins are secured in their

bearing position through the expansion,

when tightened, of tapered sleeves at

the ends of the pins that form a shrink

fit. Check and retighten the grapple

expander pins for the first time after

10 operating hours, and then every

250 operating hours. Grease the tapered

expanders and pins on reinstallation.

The MG20 grapple is fitted with a bearing

that is secured with a locking nut.

Tightening torque when checking and

re-tightening is 17 Nm.
