3)  Personal safety

a)  Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the Rotorazer 

Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. DO NOT USE a Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 while you are tired or 

under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating 

Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 may result in serious personal injury.

b)  Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such  

as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate  

conditions will reduce risk of personal injuries.

c)  Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the OFF-position before connecting to 

a power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying Rotorazer Saw® 

RZ120 with your finger on the switch or powers up Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 may invite 

accidents.

d)  Remove any adjusting key or wrench before plugging in & turning the Rotorazer Saw 3000 

Series, RZ120 ON. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the Rotorazer Saw 3000 

Series, RZ120 may result in personal injury.

e)  Unplug the machine when replacing the blade, then properly press the BLACK spindle lock  

button to lock the spindle and remove the clamping flange.

f)  Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control  

of the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 in unexpected situations.

g)  Use suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing  

and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in  

moving parts.

h)  Whenever dust extraction or dust collection devices are needed for connection, ensure these 

are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

4)  Rotorazer Saw® RZ120 use and care

a)  Do not force the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. Use the correct power tool for your applica-

tion. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b)  Do not use Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 if the switch does not turn it ON and OFF. Any 

Rotorazer Saw® RZ120 that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be 

repaired.

c)  Disconnect the plug from the power source from the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 before 

making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. 

Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, 

RZ120 accidentally.

d)  When idle, store Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 out of the reach of children and do not allow 

persons unfamiliar with the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 or these instructions to operate 

the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 is dangerous in the 

hands of untrained users.

e)  Take care of your Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. Check for misalignment or binding of  

moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the Rotorazer Saw 3000 

Series, RZ120’s operation. If damaged, have the Rotorazer Saw® RZ120 repaired before use. Many 

accidents are caused by a poorly maintained power tool.

f)  Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges 

are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g)  Use the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120, accessories and tool bits etc. In accordance with these  

instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use  

of the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 for operations different from those intended could 

result in a hazardous situation.

h)  Use a clamp or other practical way to secure and support the work piece to a stable platform.
5) Service

  Have your Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 serviced by a qualified repair person using only 

identical replacement parts. This will ensure that safety of the tool is maintained. 

  Turn off the Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 immediately if: 

1)   The power plug and/or power cord are defective. 

2)   The switch is defective. 

3)   Smoke comes out or there is a burning smell.

General Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 Safety Warnings 

WARNING:  Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and  

instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and  

instructions for future reference. The term "Rotorazer Saw® RZ120" in the warnings refers to your 

electric (corded) Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120.

1)  Work area safety

a)  Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

b)  Do not operate Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 in explosive atmospheres, such as in the  

resence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 can create sparks 

which may ignite the dust or fumes. 

c)  Keep children and bystanders away while operating Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120.  

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2)  Electrical safety

a)  Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any 

way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120. 

Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.

b)  Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges  

and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

c)  Do not expose Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 to rain or wet conditions. Water entering  

Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 will increase the risk of electric shock.

d)  Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the Rotorazer Saw 

3000 Series, RZ120. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or  

entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. Do not use the cord for purposes other 

  than those for which it was designed.

e)  When operating Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for 

outdoor use. Using a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

f)  If operating Rotorazer Saw 3000 Series, RZ120 in a damp location is unavoidable, always use a Ground 

Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of an GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

Use Proper Extension Cord. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an 

extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. 

An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. 

Table 1 shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If 

in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.
