Handling batteries
Batteries may contain inflammable substances. If batteries are incorrectly
handled they may leak, become extremely hot, catch fire or under certain
circumstances explode. This may cause damage to the device and/or your health.
It is essential that you follow these instructions:
- Keep batteries away from children. In case of accidental swallowing consult a doctor
immediately.
- Before inserting batteries check the condition of the device’s battery contacts and
clean these if necessary.
- Never reverse the battery polarity. To prevent the risk of short circuit observe the
positive (+) and negative (-) poles and ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly.
- Never attempt to re-charge batteries unless they are clearly marked ‘rechargeable’ -
risk of explosion!
- Never short circuit batteries.
- Never disassemble or deform batteries due to the risk of injury to your hands and
fingers; fluid could leak from the battery and come into contact with your skin or
eyes. If battery fluid does come into contact with your skin or your eyes, rinse the
affected area with fresh running water and consult a doctor immediately.
- Do not expose batteries to extremes of heat (direct sunshine, fire etc.).
- Replace all used batteries simultaneously with batteries of the same type. Do not mix
old and new batteries and under no circumstances mix batteries of different types.
This could cause the device to malfunction.
This device is designed to measure distances, calculate areas and volumes and for
