Service and maintenance
9.1
General overview of service and maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance of the heating system reduces energy consumption and ensures a long life and smooth
operation.
At short regular intervals:
– check the storage tank fill level and
– refill water if needed,
– cleaning of the storage tank and the cover.
Checks during bi-yearly inspection:
– Visually inspect, check and test the general condition of the heating system.
– Change worn parts.

Service and maintenance tasks
Removing the protective cover
The protective cover on the top of the storage tank must be removed in order to carry out servicing and maintenance work.
Cleaning the protective cover and storage tank
• The low-maintenance plastic only needs to be cleaned with a soft cloth and a mild detergent.
• Do not use cleaning agents containing aggressive solvents, as this will damage the surface of the boiler control panel.
Authorised and trained heating experts must carry out servicing and maintenance every two years,
before
heating
if possible, in order to preclude malfunctions which may occur during heating.
To ensure that servicing and maintenance is performed on a regular basis, ROTEX recommends that you enter
into a service and maintenance contract.
DANGER!
Danger of death due to electric shock
Live parts can cause fatal burns or injuries on contact.
• Before starting any maintenance work on the central unit disconnect it from the power supply (switch off
fuse, main switch) and secure it against unintentional restart.
WARNING!
Danger of burning due to hot surfaces
• Allow for sufficient cooling of the ROTEX ESU before performing any maintenance and inspection work.
• Wear protective gloves.
