Documentation Terms
The following terms are used throughout this guide:

“ Frame ” refers to the DFR-8300 series frame that houses the DED-8420 card, as
well as any openGear frames.
•
All references to the DFR-8300 series frames also includes all version of the 10-slot
(DFR-8310) and 20-slot (DFR-8320) frames and any available options.
•
“ Operator ” and “ User ” refer to the person who uses the DED-8420.
•
“ Board ”, and “ Card ” refer to the DED-8420 card itself, including all components
and switches.
•
“ System ” and “ Video system ” refer to the mix of interconnected production and
terminal equipment in which the DED-8420 operates.
