MIDI/RS-232C Jacks

MIDI I/O provides MIDI control options for faders, scenes and 
more parameters. Can be connected to EDIROL video mixers for 
linking video faders to audio faders. RS232C control available as 
update to Version 1. 

Console Input/Output Jacks

8 XLR inputs and XLR outputs assignable to/from channels and 
buses for external inserts and extra inputs and outputs. Inputs are 
Mic/Line with phantom power. 

REAC Ports

A and B ports for connecting to RSS Stage Units (S-4000S or 
S-1608) via Cat5e. Split/Backup port provides channel split for 
multi-track recording. 

*Split not available when using S-4000S stage unit.

Phones Jack

1/4 inch phone jack with level control knob.

Channel Buttons and Meters

SEL buttons call up the Channel Edit screen. Large SOLO/MUTE 
buttons. LED meters show signal level. 

Motorized Fader with Touch Sensitivity

Smooth, fast 100mm motorized faders with touch sensitivity for 
instant call-up of the Channel Edit screen. 

Color-coded controls for easy adjustment of channel parameters

EQUALIZER

4 bands of EQ with color-coded controls for Freq, Gain and Q. DISP 
button provides additional parameter controls. 

AUX SENDS

Quick access to 16 Aux Sends. Send levels can be controlled via Send 
Level dial or via Faders when using the Sends On Fader feature. 

PAN

Dedicated Pan dial for fast and easy Pan control.

TOUCH SELECT

When lit, touching any channel fader calls up its Channel Edit 
screen. 

FILTER

4-mode filter adjustable from 20Hz to 20KHz. 

PREAMP

Adjusts Digital Snake’s preamp Gain in 1dB increments. 

Function Buttons

Provide fast access to M-400 screens. 

USB Memory Recorder Section

Stereo recorder/player using USB memory drive. Linear WAV files 
can be recorded or played back live. Capture a live mix or provide 
background music. 

USB Jack

In addition to record/playback of WAV files, an 
USB memory drive can be used to save/load 
M-400 scenes, libraries and user passwords. 

SCENE MEMORY

Up to 300 scenes can be saved to internal memory for later recall. 
Scenes can recall all mixer settings or can be filtered to recall only 
selected parameters. 

Control Section

Value dial with cursor and ENTER/EXIT buttons for quick 
parameter selections and adjustments. 

Setup Section

Provides instant access to the PATCHBAY screen and the SYSTEM 
screen. 

Group Section

Provides instant access to the DCA Groups screen and the MUTE 
Groups screen.

Talkback and Oscillator Section

Gain control and ON button for talkback mic. DISP button brings up 
setup screen for Talkback as well as Oscillator for acoustical analysis. 

Monitor Section

Monitor output level control. DISP screen provides fast access to 
selectable monitor sources and SOLO parameter controls. 

User Section

Multiple users with unique passwords can be set up with access to 
all or a limited number of channels, parameters, their own 
preferences, user buttons and user fader setup. 

LAYER

Fast access to channels 1-24, 25-48 and Aux Bus/DCA Masters. 
User Fader layer customizable for one-layer mixing.

Main Fader

Adjusts Main output mix. SEL button toggles between L and R 
Channel Edit screens for Main channel. Includes SOLO and MUTE.

Insert Effects

8 XLR inputs and outputs on the console’s rear panel can be used for 
sends/returns of external insert effects on any channel or bus. 

4 x 31 bands GEQ

Four dedicated 31-band graphic EQ’s can be edited using 100mm 
faders. Additional GEQs available in FX1-4 for up to 12 31-band 
graphics. 

Effects

Fast access to 4 stereo or 8 dual mono high quality internal effects 
including stereo reverbs, delays and sophisticated channel strips.
