Before You Start
Turning the Power On
1.
Minimize the volume of the SP-404A and your
speakers .
Turn the SP-404A’s [VOLUME] knob all the way to the left.
2.
Turn the SP-404A’s [POWER] switch ON .
NOTE
This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief
interval (a few seconds) after power up is required
before the unit will operate normally.
3.
Turn on the power of your speakers .
4.
Adjust the volume .
While striking the pads of the SP-404A to produce sound,
slowly turn the [VOLUME] knob toward the right, and
adjust the volume on the SP-404A and on your speakers.
Turning the Power Off
1.
Minimize the volume of the SP-404A and your
speakers .
2.
Turn off the power of your speakers .
3.
Turn the SP-404A’s [POWER] switch OFF .
Auto Off setting
The power to this unit will be turned off automati-
cally after a predetermined amount of time has
passed since it was last used for playing music, or
its buttons or controls were operated (Auto Off
function).
If you do not want the power to be turned off
automatically, disengage the Auto Off function .
NOTE
•
Any settings that you are in the process of
editing will be lost when the power is turned off.
If you have any settings that you want to keep,
you should save them beforehand.
•
To restore power, turn the power on again.
1.
While holding down the BANK [A/F] button,
turn on the power .
2.
Turn the [CTRL 3] knob to select the desired
setting for the Auto Off function .

off four hours after you stop operating the

Press the [REC] button to confirm your
selection .
MEMO
The setting you make here will be retained even
while the power is off.
