How to use the function Generate Waveform
The general settings dialog of several digital standards provides the built-in function
"Generate Waveform".
This function enables the calculation of the signal and saves the information in a wave-
form file. After saving, you can load the waveform file in the ARB generator.
To generate an EUTRA/LTE waveform file
1. Select "Baseband > EUTRA/LTE/IoT..."
2. Adjust the settings as required, for example:
a) Select "Link Direction > Downlink".
b) Select a predefined test model, e.g., "Test Setups/Models > E-
TM1_1__10MHz".
3. Enable "EUTRA/LTE/IoT > State > On".
4. Select "Generate Waveform File".
A standard file-select dialog opens.
a) Navigate to the directory, in that you want to save the file, e.g. /var/user/.
b) Enter a filename (e.g.
lte_waveform
).
c) Click "Save".
The R&S
SMM100A saves the generated waveform file
lte_waveform.wv
under
the selected directory
/var/user/
.
To process the waveform file, load it in the ARB, see
4.6.4.3
How to load and play waveform files
Irrespectively on the way a waveform file is generated, you can transfer it to the instru-
ment, load it in the ARB and play it.
To load and play a waveform file
1. Transfer an externally created waveform file to the instrument (see
"How to transfer files from and to the instrument"
2. Select "Baseband > ARB"
3. Select "Load Waveform".
A standard file-select dialog opens.
a) Navigate to the directory, that the waveform file contains.
