Do not interrupt decryption
If the decryption process is interrupted, your data cannot be recovered. Make sure to
connect your workstation to a power source.
Not VS-NfD approved
Deactivating the full-disk encryption is not VS-NfD approved.
1. Connect a smart card with permission to access the workstation.
2. Boot directly from the R&S
Trusted
Disk rescue CD.
The program checks if encrypted partitions are available.
Note:
The SATA controller must be set to AHCI mode instead of RAID mode. Oth-
erwise, the rescue CD may not detect the encrypted hard disk drive.
3. Enter
Y
.
4. To confirm, press [Enter].
5. Enter the smart card PIN.
The decryption process starts. For the decryption progress, check the status bar.

6. When the decryption process is finished, press any key to shut down the worksta-
tion.
You have encrypted the hard disk drive.
7. To recover your data, follow one of the options mentioned above.
