4.5 Connecting the RF Reference Ground
The V-network is connected via the power connector to the protective earth conductor
(PE) of the mains supply; however, this is not suitable as an RF reference ground for
measuring disturbance voltages. Therefore, the V-network must be connected to an
appropriate RF reference ground to obtain reproducible and correct measurement
results.
The RF reference ground that is used can be connected flush to the laterally arranged
ground bar (2) using a wide metal foil and seven M6 screws (1) (see
Fig. 3
Connection to RF reference ground
Make sure that the RF reference ground is not impacted by disturbance voltages (e.g.
from an industrial network) when the protective earth conductor is connected to the
protective earth. If this is the case, the protective earth must be connected via a
protective earth choke. With the choke, make sure that no voltages constituting a
shock hazard are applied to the housing.
