i. The
Fault
status indication LED should be blinking red. Cross
reference the blink pattern you are observing to the blink pattern
explanation in the
Bulletin 284E Fault LED Indicators
table that is
on page
. Does the fault indication correctly identify the fault that
occurred?
ii. Also observe the network status indication. Refer to the
for the network status
indication descriptions.

Press the blue
Reset
button on the unit to clear the fault and verify the
fault was cleared.
4.
Bring the unit online and put the controller into
Rem Run
mode in
RSLogix 5000. Refer to Step 7 on page
if you need help getting the unit
online.

Flip the
A3 Fault
switch again, hold for another 3 seconds, and release to
simulate another A3 Power Loss.
6.
To identify what fault occurred:
a. Double click on
Controller Tags
at the top of the Controller
Organizer.
b. Verify that a fault occurred within the unit by looking at the
TripPresent
tag within AS_EIP_284:I. Expand AS_EIP_284:I by
clicking on the
plus
sign next to AS_EIP_284:I. The
TripPresent
bit
should be a 1.
c. To see which fault occurred, expand AS_EIP_284:I and scroll down
and expand AS_EIP_284:I.Int01DeviceOut to see the individual bits
of this word. AS_EIP_284:I.Int01DeviceOut points to parameter 4
which is
Trip Status
. These 16 bits correlate to the Trip Status bit
descriptions in the
