Chapter 6
Maintain and Troubleshoot the MobileView Terminal and IP65 Junction Box
Troubleshoot the IP65
Junction Box
There are three LED lights and a status indicator bar on the front of the IP65
junction box. For more information on these lights and the bar, see
Box Status Indicator Lights on page 52
explains what colors can display on the status indicator bar when an error
is detected and their significance.
Table 9 - IP65 Junction Box Status Indicator Bar Error Colors and Descriptions
Color
(1)
Status Description
Solution
Solid blue
The illuminated E-stop button on the second generation MobileView
terminal is faulty.
Replace the faulty illuminated E-stop button within five days or use another
second generation MobileView terminal with a functional illuminated
E-stop button.
IMPORTANT:
If you do not replace the faulty illuminated E-stop button
within five days, another fault color is triggered on the status indicator bar.
See the first row of ‘Blinking half yellow, half red.’
Blinking half yellow, half
red
The faulty illuminated E-stop button on the second generation
MobileView terminal connected to the IP65 junction box was not
replaced within five days after being detected, which triggers an
emergency stop.
Replace the faulty illuminated E-stop button within five days or use another
second generation MobileView terminal with a functional illuminated
E-stop button.
The E-stop circuit connection between the second generation
MobileView terminal and IP65 junction box is not established, which
triggers an emergency stop.
1. Disconnect the second generation MobileView terminal and 22-pin
connection cable from the IP65 junction box.
2. Verify that the illuminated E-stop button on the second generation
MobileView terminal is unlocked (pressed and released).
3. Reset the system or machine.
4. Reconnect the second generation MobileView terminal and 22-pin
connection cable to the IP65 junction box within 10 seconds of returned
power.
5. If the problem persists, verify that the emergency stop wiring or
connections to the IP65 junction box are correct.
For 2711T-JBIP65DC1, the IP65 junction box with cord grip connections,
verify that the E-stop wiring connections are correct at the S16 terminal
of the junction box. For more information, see
The current E-stop status of the system or machine is different than the
‘remembered’ E-stop status of the IP65 junction box.
Blinking red
A faulty connection is detected
1. Disconnect the second generation MobileView terminal and 22-pin
connection cable from the IP65 junction box.
2. Insert a black bridge connector in the IP65 junction box.
3. Reset the system or machine.
4. Verify that the LED lights and status indicator bar on the front of the IP65
junction box are illuminated green.
If the IP65 junction box displays any colors other than green, the junction
box is faulty and needs to be replaced.
5. Verify that the illuminated E-stop button on the second generation
MobileView terminal is unlocked (pressed and released).
6. Remove the black bridge connector, and reconnect the second
generation MobileView terminal and 22-pin connection cable to the IP65
junction box.
If the IP65 junction box returns to the blinking red status, either the
connection cable or second generation MobileView terminal is faulty and
needs to be replaced.
The E-stop circuits between the second generation MobileView
terminal and the IP65 junction box are cross circuited
(1) The IP65 junction box must have power (shown as green for power LED) for the status bar to display status.
