Installation, ser v ice and ann u al inspection of heater
m u st be done by a contractor q u alified in the
installation and ser v ice of gas-fired heating
eq u ipment.
Read this man u al caref u lly before installation,
operation or ser v ice of this eq u ipment.
D u e to the nat u re of gas con v ersions, it is important
yo u u se the correct con v ersion kit for the heater
model and gas yo u are con v erting to. Use only
gen u ine ROBERTS GORDON ® con v ersion kits.
This heater is designed for heating nonresidential
indoor spaces. Do not install in residential spaces.
These instr
u ctions, the layo u t dra w ing, local codes
and ordinances, and applicable standards that apply
to gas piping, electrical
w iring, v enting, etc. m u st be
thoro u ghly u nderstood before proceeding w ith the
installation.
Protecti v e gear is to be w orn d u ring installation, oper-
ation and ser v ice. Thin sheet metal parts, incl u ding
the al u min u m reflector portion of the heater and the
v ario u s v enting components, ha v e sharp edges. To
pre v ent inj u ry, the u se of w ork glo v es is recom-
mended. The u se of glo v es w ill also pre v ent the
transfer of body oils from the hands to the s u rface of
the reflector.
Before installation, check that the local distrib u tion
conditions, nat u re of gas and press u re, and adj u st-
ment of the appliance are compatible.
This heater m u st be applied and operated u nder the
general concepts of reasonable u se and installed
u sing best b u ilding practices.
This appliance is not intended for u se by persons
(incl u ding children) w ith red u ced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
kno
w ledge, u nless they ha v e been gi v en s u per v ision
or instr u ction concerning u se of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children sho u ld
be s u per v ised to ens u re that they do no play w ith the
appliance.

1.1 Manpower Re q uirements
To pre v ent personal inj u ry and damage to the heater,
t w o persons w ill be req u ired for installation.
1.2 Safety Labels and Their Placement
Prod u ct safety signs or labels sho u ld be replaced by
the prod u ct u ser w hen they are no longer legible.

replacement signs or labels.
1.3 California Proposition 65
In accordance w ith California Proposition 65 req u ire-
ments, a w arning label m u st be placed in a highly
v isible location on the o u tside of the eq u ipment (i.e.,
near eq u ipment’s serial plate). See label placement
dra w ing for label location. A v oid placing label on
areas w ith extreme heat, cold, corrosi v e chemicals or
