SECTION 9: VENTING
9.1 General Ventin g Re q uirements
This p u mp m u st be v ented in accordance w ith the
r u les contained in this man u al and w ith the follo w ing
national codes and any state, pro v incial or local
codes w hich may apply:
United States: Refer to National F u el Gas Code
NFPA 54/ANSI Z223.1 - latest re v ision.
Canada: Refer to Nat u ral Gas and Propane
Installation Code CSA B149.1 - latest re v ision.
This section pro v ides partial information abo u t this
specification w ith regard to size and config u ration for
v enting req u irements. See Page 19, Figure 16 and
Page 20, Figure 17 . Ho w e v er, to pro v ide ass u rance
of proper and safe operation, it is the responsibility of
the installer to make s
u re the installation is in strict
accordance w ith all local and national codes.
9.2 Ventin g the Pump
• The exha u st connection from the p u mp is 6" (15
cm) diameter.
• Connect the 6" (15 cm) p u mp boot (pro v ided) to
the 6" (15 cm) fl u e pipe, u sing the 6" (15 cm)
band clamp pro v ided.
• Venting from the p u mp may discharge either
horizontally or v ertically. Horizontal dischar g e is
preferred. See Page 19, Figure 16 . Vertical dis-
charge m u st be arranged as sho w n on Page 20,
Figure 17 . Corrosion resistant pipe is req u ired.
• Both horizontal and v ertical v enting m u st be
s u pported by s u itable hangers.
• Vent lengths are allo w ed as follo w s:

2. Heat treated al u minized t u bing 4" (10 cm) O.D.
(P/N 91409408)
Heat treated al u minized t u bing 6" (15 cm) O.D.
(P/N E0009105)
3. Single w all fl u e pipe - minim u m 26 ga.
(Not s u itable for mod u lating and condensing
system designs.)
4. Sched u le 40 ASTM A53 (Latest Edition) grade B
ERW black steel pipe.
NOTE: 4" (10 cm) O.D. Porcelain coated t u bing (P/N
914030D), 4" (10 cm) O.D. Heat treated al u minized
t u bing (P/N 91409408), and 6" (15 cm) O.D. Heat
treated al u minized t u bing (P/N E0009105) are eq u i v -
alent to single w all fl u e pipe.
9.4 Horizontal Ventin g
If u sing v ent lengths greater than 20' (6 m),
condensation w ill form in the v ent pipe. Ins u lation
and additional sealing meas u res w ill be req u ired.
