5.1.3 Attachin g Pump Inlet Assembly
From scroll assembly side of p u mp, orient inlet
assembly so threaded pipe co u pling is on top. See
partial end v ie w on Page 10, Figure 4 .
• Place flat w asher on the 5/16" x 7/8" scre w .
• Position a single section of gasket against face of
p u mp scroll; align clearance holes of gasket w ith
mo u nting holes of p u mp scroll. Loosely install one
5/16" x 7/8" scre w thro u gh gasket segment and
into top center mo u nting hole of p u mp scroll to
s u pport gasket.
• Interlock remaining gasket segment to pre v io u sly
installed gasket segment to complete circ u lar
gasket.
• Orient inlet plate assembly as sho w n. The
1/8" NPT pl u g sho u ld face directly u p, and 1" NPT
pl u g sho u ld face directly do w n w ard. Caref u lly
position top center mo u nting notch of inlet plate
assembly to engage mo u nting scre w positioned
pre v io u sly.
• Install se v en remaining 5/16" x 7/8" scre w s
thro u gh notches in inlet plate assembly and into
corresponding mo u nting holes in p u mp scroll.
• Tighten scre w s (torq u e to 132 in/lb) to complete
installation of inlet plate assembly.
• Install press u re s w itch in 1/8" NPT hole in top of
o u tlet.
