12 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
IMPORTANT
It is advisable that professional
servicing is carried out at six monthly
intervals for a powerchair in constant
daily use.
For a powerchair exposed to less
usage, the weekly checks should be
carried out every time the powerchair
is used.
DAILY CHECK:
Battery fuel level.
Power braking is effective.
Parking brake operation.
Steering is effective.
WEEKLY CHECK:
Set and backrest upholstery/cushions for tears or damage.
Push handles for security.
Wheel and castor security.
Locking link and thumb catch security and operation.
Cross brace folding mechanism. Check that the pivot bolts are not loose.
Do not overtighten as this will cause securing tab fracture.
Tyre pressure and condition (if pneumatic option fitted).
Folding mechanism.
Castor and wheel security.
