The Flow-Guard stainless steel screen filter offers an inexpensive alternative for trickle filtra -
tion requirements. However, as with any pressure screen type filter, its use is limited to water
contaminants of the inorganic type. In addition, some silt conditions may result in unsatisfactory
operation. In these conditions we recommend using Sand-Media filters.

A unique Flow-Balanced under drain is the key to Flow-Guard’s impressive backwash efficiency. The Flow-Balanced under
drain has multiple ports evenly distributed beneath the media bed. The corresponding flow “zones” provide a uniform lift of
the entire sand bed during backwash, as well as uniform collection during filtration. Uniform lift creates a rapid liquidation
of the sand bed, enabling shorter backwash cycles, less backwash disposal, and energy cost savings.
