RHV Dock Leveler Owner’s Manual

TROUBLESHOOTING CHART 

Problem      

Cause                                     Solution

1. Unit will not operate.     

a.  No power.     

a. Check the main power supply. Check fuses in the 

control box and disconnect. 

b. Overload relay tripped.     

b. Single phase unit should reset automatically. Three 

phase unit should be reset manually in the control 
box. 

c. Loose connection.     

c. Verify that all connections are tight and no wires 

are broken. Verify that pushbutton contacts are 
functional. 

d. Is the voltage/motor phase 

d. Check power requirements. correct? 

e. Is motor wired correctly?    

e. Check wiring.

2. Unit functions slowly.     

a. Low oil.     

a. Check oil level and refill if necessary. 

b. Improper voltage.     

b. Verify that the power unit is proper for the 

incoming voltage. 

c. Improper maintenance.     

c. Perform all required maintenance, see 

“Maintenance Procedures”. 

d. Hose leak.     

d. Check hoses, valves and fittings for leaks, and 

replace if necessary. 

e. Debris in hydraulic system.

e. Verify that there is not debris stuck in the system. 

f.  Spool valves are not  

f.  Verify that the spools are magnetized. If not, verify 

opening fully.
