TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE
REMEDY
1
Platform does not raise
Power has been disconnected
Make sure that power has not been disconnected
Verify that disconnect circuit breaker or fuses are not tripped
The motor is not wired correctly
Make sure the motor has been wired according to the motor wiring
diagram See
"Motor FLA/Connection Detail" on page 7
Overload tripped
Push RESET on overload relay
Debris is lodged on or around the leveler
Do an check for and remove any lodged materials on or around the
leveler
Hydraulic fluid level is low.
Do an oil level check when the unit is held open with the
maintenance strut See
Refill if necessary.

Leveler runs
continuously
The pushbutton, contact block or motor
contactor is damaged
Repair or replace components

Lip extends slowly and/
or does not extend
Debris on lip hinge
Remove debris from the lip hinge
Lip impacted or bent
Lubricate per maintenance procedures or replace lip
Hydraulic fluid level low.
Do an oil level check when unit is held open with the maintenance
strut See
. Refill if necessary.

Platform does not lower
Velocity fuse has locked up
Attempt to raise the unit to unlock the velocity fuse
Debris is lodged on or around the leveler
Do an check for and remove any lodged debris on or around the
leveler

Platform raises very
slowly
Weight on top of platform
Remove weight from platform
Hydraulic fluid level is low.
Do an oil level check when the unit is held open with maintenance
strut See
. Refill if necessary.
Low voltage
Make sure there is ± 10% nominal voltage while unit running
Power unit/pump/motor failure
Replace power unit assembly

Lip does not store
properly
The lip stop bolt is not adjusted properly
Verify that the lip stop bolt is properly adjusted
Debris
Remove debris
Lip keepers
Repair or replace the lip keepers

Fuse or circuit breaker
trips
Undersized fuse or circuit
Make sure there is 20 amp for 120VAC and 15 amp for 240VAC
Low voltage
Make sure there is ± 10% nominal voltage while unit running
Short circuit in wiring
Examine and repair wiring connections
Wire gauge is too small Distance too long
Make sure the minimum wire gauge per distance is correct See
