When connecting to
the IPv6 network
Set this item when you allocate an Internet Protocol
version 6 address to this machine.

Touch [Network Settings (IPv6)] in
the [Admin.] screen.

Select a setting method.
Touch either [Manual], [Stateless], or [Stateful]
according to the connection environment.

Enter a value.
• [Prefix]:
You can enter using the numeric keys.
• Other setting items:
When you touch a button, the [Key Board]
screen is displayed. Enter using the following
steps.

Enter by touching the buttons on the
screen.
You can also enter numbers using the
numeric keys.

Touching the [OK] key displays the [Network
Settings (IPv6)] screen.

Touch [OK].
The [Admin.] screen is displayed.

Authentication function
The authentication function is basically divided into
“Machine authentication” and “ID print”.
Machine authentication
Before using this machine, it is necessary to perform
the authentication operation (entry of PIN code, inser-
tion of USB flash drive for authentication, or holding of
IC card over reader).
Performing the authentication operation can limit the
use of this machine to only the registered users.
It can also limit the operation of [Admin.] to only the
administrator.
It also enables the following functions:

• [ID Print Job] for [Storage] or [USB Job List]

The administrator can access the authentication data of
any user.
“Authentication” means to identify the user of this
machine by using the PIN code, etc., that is
assigned to each user.
User identification enables individual user manage-
ment and enhanced security.
It is necessary to set the following items in order to
enable the authentication function.
• [Recognized by]
• [Management Level]
• [Create User]

The authentication function is enabled at
the time of factory shipment as follows.

[Recognized by] is set to [PIN Code].

The only user registered is the adminis-
trator. The administrator PIN is the serial
number of this machine. You can check
this machine’s serial number in [Func-
tions] - [System Info].
