THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT FAULTS

The unit makes a noise temporarily after ignition.  The unit ensures ignition a few seconds
after the user has pushed the knob.
Cannot ignite when the control knob is in the “COLD” position.  The unit is made not to ignite
cold water setting.

If the Unit has not been used for a prolonged period.

Clean all dirty parts and completely drain the unit of water.

Leave the water running for a little while before using.

Ignition may be difficult due to air in the gas pipes.  In this case the ignition must be
attempted until the air has been dispelled.

Take out the batteries (battery fluid leakage may cause damage to the unit).

AFTER SALES SERVICE

Before calling for service, go through the fault finding procedure on page 13.
Have the following details ready:

Model number (on data plate or service code number)

SAFETY FEATURES

Prevention of Unit Being Left On

If hot water is flowing continuously, the unit’s flame will cut out after 15-20minutes.  The water
will continue to flow.  Press the control knob to stop the water flow when you notice the flame
has cut out.

WARNING

:  The air may be stale when you go to use the hot water heater again.  Please

change the air inside the room before using the unit again.

FLAME FAILURE DEVICE

If the burner’s flame has gone out due to wind etc., the gas will automatically cut out.  Press
the control knob to stop the water flow when you notice the flame has cut out.

WARNING

:  Wait 10 minutes before using the unit again, as there may be some gas still in

the unit.

Unsafe Combustion Prevention Device

The unsafe combustion prevention device will automatically turn off the appliance.  This is to
prevent the air quality due to lack of ventilation from reaching an unsafe level.  Press the
control knob to stop the water flow when you notice the flame has cut out and ventilate the
room.

WARNING

:  Ventilate the room before using the unit again.

If there is enough ventilation but the flame cuts out, the heat exchanger may be dirty.  Have the
unit checked by an appropriate serviceman.
