terminal on the battery

Attach the black (-) battery clip to vehicle
chassis, away from the battery and fuel line

Polarity check – The polarity check LED
illuminates if the SmartCharger is connected
to the battery incorrectly.  i.e. the red (+) clip
connected to the black (-) terminal on the battery.

ENSURE CONNECTION IS CORRECT AND THE
‘POLARITY CHECK’ LED IS NOT ILLUMINATED

3.

Connect the AC mains plug to the AC mains
supply

4.

The SmartCharge defaults to the lowest
charge setting:
RSCP12 – 2A
RSCP25 – 4A

5.

The charge rate setting can be altered by
pressing the charge rate selection switch:

RSCP12

- 2A (slow charge)
- 6A (medium charge)
- 12A (fast charge)

RSCP25

- 4A (slow charge)
- 12A (medium charge)
- 25A (fast charge)

6.

During the charging stage the ‘charging status’
LED flashes, with the battery fully charged the
charging status LED remains solid.

7.

Pressing the LED display mode selection
switch toggles between:

a)

Battery voltage % - displays the battery status

LOW – up to 13.5v

60 – 90% above 13.5v

FUL- Fully charged

b)

Battery voltage

c)

Charging current applied (in amps)

8.

The charging process is complete when the ‘
charging status’ LED goes solid

9.

To disconnect the SmartCharger from the
battery unplug the AC mains plug from the
AC mains supply
