• Press the ON/OFF switch (fig.1, ref.3) to start the press fit cycle.
Important: Keep fingers and hands away from jaws during pressing
cycle!
• Wait until the complete pressing cycle has been completed.
• The tool features an automatic pressing facility. This ensures a full
pressing cycle at all times
Important: In order to ease the load of the machine in a dangerous
situation you should firmly press the yellow pressure relief button
(Fig. 1 ref. 5). The hydraulic pressure decreases, the piston retracts
and the pressure on the tool as well as the jaw will be relieved.
TROUBLESHOOTING
• If a power failure interrupts the pressing cycle, press the manual release
switch (fig. 1, ref 4) to reopen the jaws and remove the tool from the pipe.
• Whenever a pressing cycle is not fully completed, either due to a power
failure or any other cause, the complete procedure must be repeated.
-It is strongly recommended to never attempt to repeat a pressing cycle that
has been interrupted. This may lead to damage to the joint and possible
leakage. The joint should be cut out and replaced by a new one.
-The use of jaws not specifically designed and approved for pressing the
fittings being used may lead to damage and incorrectly compressed fittings.
Contact your RIDGID Press Fit Service Centre for any malfunction not covered
in this instruction manual.
