OPERATiON

wARNiNg:

Do not allow familiarity with the product to make 
you careless. Remember that a careless  fraction of 
a second is sufficient to inflict severe injury.

wARNiNg:

Always wear eye protection with side shields 
marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1 along with 
hearing protection and where necessary a full 
face shield. Failure to do so could result in objects 
being thrown into your eyes and other possible 
serious injuries.

wARNiNg:

Do not use any attachments or accessories 
not recommended by the manufacturer of this 
tool. The use of attachments or accessories not 
recommended can result in serious personal 
injury.

APPLicATiONS

You may use this product for the purposes listed below:

 

Cutting all types of wood products (lumber, plywood, 
paneling, composition board, and hard wood)

 

Cutting masonite and plastic

 

Cutting drywall

 

Cutting metals such as sheet steel, pipe, steel rods, 
aluminum, brass, and copper

TURNiNg THE SAw ON/OFF

See Figure 2, page 13.

  To turn the saw on: Depress the switch trigger.

  To turn the saw off: Release the switch trigger.

VARiAbLE SPEEd

See Figure 2, page 13.

The variable speed switch delivers higher speed with 
increased trigger pressure and lower speed with decreased 
trigger pressure.

ROTATiNg HANdLE

See Figure 3, page 13.

The saw handle can be rotated 180˚ to the left and right with 
stops located at every 90˚. 

 

Unplug the saw.

 

Push handle lock button and rotate handle to desired 
position.

 

Release handle lock button and make sure handle is 
locked into position.

 

Plug in the saw.

wARNiNg:

Unplug the saw before rotating handle. Do not 
attempt to rotate handle while cutting.

wARNiNg:

Be sure rotating handle is locked and secured 
before using saw.

ORbiTAL AcTiON SELEcTOR

See Figure 4, page 13.

Use the orbital action selector to select either a linear stroke 
or orbital cutting action. A linear stroke is best for making 
smooth cuts while orbital action is best for making a faster 
cut. 

NOTE:

 To prevent damage to the tool, always allow motor 

to come to a complete stop before using the orbital action 
selector.

NOTE:

 Do not use the orbital action setting when using a 

metal cutting blade.

bASE (SHOE) ASSEMbLY

The reciprocating saw has a base (shoe) assembly that 
pivots up and down in both directions. The adjustable base 
allows for the use of the blade teeth at different positions 
on the blade.

TO cHANgE POSiTiONS OF THE bASE 
ASSEMbLY

See Figure 5, page 14.

 

Unplug the saw.

 Pull base assembly lock down to unlock base 

assembly.

  Reposition base assembly as desired.

  Push base assembly lock up completely against tool to 

lock base assembly in place.

TO iNSTALL bLAdE

See Figure 6, page 14.

  Unplug the saw.

  Lift and hold blade clamp lock/release lever located on 

side of saw.

  Insert saw blade between blade clamp and saw bar.

  Release blade clamp lever.
