Troubleshooting
When an error or failure occurs in RICOH e-Sharing Box, an error message appears on the web
browser screen and an error notification is sent to the administrator's e-mail address. Resolve the
problems according to the displayed messages.
In addition, an error history is recorded in an error log. For details about how to check the error log, see
page 99 "Checking Log Information".
When an error occurs on DocsConnect, a message appears on the smart device's screen. For details
about possible solutions to the problems displayed on the smart device's screen, see page 102 "When
Error Messages Appear".
Error Notification
When an error occurs in the machine, an error notification is sent to the e-mail addresses of users with
administrator privileges.
Check the contents of the e-mail and resolve the problem as necessary.
Checking Log Information
The following types of history files are stored on this machine: job log, access log, system log, and
document access log. You can download log files and browse them using a spreadsheet application to
open CSV files.
Job Log
The job log registers information about jobs done using the machine. This information includes date
and time when the job was done, the name of the user who did the job, functions used by the job,
and results of the job.
The name of the job log is "History_job_(host name of the machine)_(date and time)".
Access Log
The access log registers information about accessing the machine. This information includes date
and time, the name of the user, and the type of device used to access the machine. The login and
logout activities are also registered.
The name of the access log is "History_access_(host name of the machine)_(date and time)".
System Log
The system log registers information related to the management of the machine system, such as
changing the settings, executing backups, creating archives, and system errors.
The name of the system log is "History_system_(host name of the machine)_(date and time)".
