When installing the barrier pressurisation system,
there are some basic things to keep in mind:

It is essential to observe the installation and oper-
ating instructions of the pump, pressurisation sys-
tem and mechanical seal manufacturer.
●
Install the supply system so that operation, moni-
toring and maintenance are easily possible.
●
Mount the container above the mechanical seal
(approx. 1 ... 2 m) so that a natural circulation of
the barrier liquid is achieved.
●
When supported by a circulation pump, a smaller
distance is possible.
●
The pipelines in the circuit of the supply system
should be of stainless steel of the dimensions
specified in the installation and operating instruc-
tions.
●
The connections are usually made through pipe
fittings.
●
The pipe routing should be as short and stream-
lined as possible.
●
To avoid trapped air, lay the pipes in ascending
order.
●
For directional changes, use only elbows and shut
off full port ball valves.
●
Always connect the discharge line of the mechani-
cal seal to the lateral connection on the reservoir
of the supply system.
