Parameters

 

The following sections cover ethernet configuration
by Telnet.

 

2.4.1

Entering Telnet Session

 

Once a communications link has been established
with the scale, the following (or similar) information
will appear in a dialog box:

Press Enter to go into Setup

 

At this point you must press ENTER within three
seconds or the link to the scale will be lost and the
message “Connection to host lost” is displayed. After
entering the Telnet session, the following information
will appear in the dialog box:

Setting the Scale’s IP Address

 

To set the IP address of the scale select “Server
Configuration” by entering “0”. After pressing
ENTER the following information will appear in the
dialog box:

 

IP Address: (128) 128.(001) 1.(001) 1.(215) 218

Set Gateway IP address (N) N

Netmask: Number of Bits for Host Part
(0=default) (00)

Change Telnet config password (N) N

 

The setting will be stepped through one at a time. The
existing or default values are enclosed in parenthesis.
To leave a setting unchanged, press ENTER. To
change a setting, enter the new value and press
ENTER. In the example above, only the last value of
the IP address was changed. After entering the last
value, the current settings and menu as shown in step
1 of Section 2.4.1 return to the screen.

 

2.4.3

Setting the Scale’s TCP/IP Connection

 

To set the TCP/IP connection of the scale, select
“Channel 1 Configuration” by entering “1”. After
pressing ENTER the information listed below will
appear in the dialog box. Enter the values listed belwo
for the optimum TCP/IP connection.

Each setting will be stepped through one at a time.
The existing or default values are enclosed in
parenthesis. To leave a setting unchanged, press
ENTER. To change a setting, enter the new value and
press ENTER. In the example above no changes were
made. After entering the last value, the current settings
and menu as shown in step 1 of Section 2.4.1 return to
the screen.

 

2.4.4

Setting the Scale’s UDP Connection

 

Setting Channel 1 to UDP mode instead of TCP/IP
will increase the communication speed of the ethernet
port. To use a UDP connection select “Channel 1
Configuration”  by entering “1”. After pressing
ENTER the information listed below will appear in
the dialog box. Enter the values listed below for the
optimum UDP connection. Be sure to select the “Use
UDP protocol” in “TCP/IP Settings” in the ScaleLink
Pro (version 2.1 or later) under <Setup><Comms
(ID-EnQ)><TCP/IP link>.
