BEFORE BEGINNING ANY MODIFICATION, BE SURE MAIN
DISCONNECT SWITCH IS IN THE “OFF” POSITION. FAIL-
URE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCK
RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. TAG DIS-
CONNECT WITH A SUITABLE WARNING LABEL.
1. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
A. Remove compressor access panel.
B. Refer to control box drawing for mounting location of the
(2) two time delay controls (Fig. 1).
2. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
A. Refer to the unit wiring diagram and Fig. 2 for making
electrical connections.
B. Locate low voltage coil terminals for number 1 and num-
ber 2 compressor contactors.
C. Remove yellow and brown wire from compressor contac-
tor #1 coil and place them on terminals R1 and R2 of
time delay control #1.
D. Connect the yellow and brown leads supplied in the kit to
Y1 and Y2 terminal of time delay #1 and to coil terminals
of compressor contactor #1.
E. Remove orange and brown wire from compressor con-
tactor #2 coil and place them on terminals R1 and R2 of
time delay control #2.
F. Connect the orange and brown leads supplied in the kit
to Y1 and Y2 terminals of time delay #2 and to coil termi-
nals of compressor contactor #2.
G. Replace compressor access panel.
H. Restore power to the unit and check operation. Each time
that thermostat circuit “Y1” or “Y2” is interrupted there will
be a delay of approximately 5 min. before the corre-
sponding compressor will re-start.
