If during inspection the flue p

re determined to require

ning, the following procedures should be followed
(by a qualified installer, service
agency, or gas supplier):
1. Turn off the electrical power to the unit and set the thermostat to the lowest
temperature.
2. Shut off the gas supply to the unit either at the meter or at manual valve in the
supply piping.
3. Remove the furn

4. Disconnect the g

5. Disconnect the wiring to the induced dr

ft blower motor, g

Mark all wires disconnected for proper
reconnection

7. Remove the burner tr

nifold

ssembly from the unit.

ft blower to the collector box

nd
screws (1

nel. Remove
the induced dr

ft blower

nd the collector box from the unit.
9. Remove the screws (3) connecting the divider pl

te to the he

t exch

nger center

nel.
10. Remove the turbul

tors from inside the he
a
t exch
a
ngers by inserting the bl
a
de of
a
screwdriver under the locking t
a
bs. Pop the t
a
bs out of the exp
a
nded grooves of the
he
a
t exch
a
nger.

lide the turbul

tors out of the he
a
t exch
a
ngers.
11. Direct

w
a
ter hose into the outlet of the he
a
t exch
a
nger top. Flush the inside of e
a
ch
he
a
t exch
a
nger tube with w
a
ter. Blow out e
a
ch tube with
a
ir to remove excessive
moisture.
12. Re

ssemble (steps 1 through 10 in reverse order).
Be careful not to strip out the
screw holes used to mount the collector box and inducer blower. Replace
inducer blower gasket and collector box gasket with factory replacements if
damaged.

EXCHANGER MUST BE REPLACED IF THEY HAVE HOLES OR CRACKS IN
THEM. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING
RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
