Hardware Installation
Locate an open USB or RS-232 port on the
system. Plug the connector into the PC’s (or
available on any peripheral) port.
You may place the Base Unit next to your
monitor, beside your PC, or where you feel it is
appropriate.
pcProx Badge (Passive badge users)
The pcProx badge is the same as your supplied
passive proximity badge for your facility access
control system. Since the pcProx reader is
independent of bit length, it is capable of reading
any existing proximity badge format. This is a
passive badge and therefore requires no battery.
Energy required for the badge is supplied by the
pcProx Base Unit once the badge comes within
range (approximately 1-4 inches)
