• Use the tap to dispense coffee.
• Always make sure at least three cups of water
are remaining in the tank to prevent the boil-dry
accident. When about three cups of water are re-
maining in the tank, turn the appliance off and
unplug it from the electric outlet.
• The urns can be very heavy when fi lled with water
or coffee. Urns should not be carried or moved
when full of water as the weight and unsteady
load can cause injury or strain. Urns should be
placed in their position of use and fi lled through
the use of a portable hose or several trips with
a smaller, manageable container (e.g. a jug).
• Remove coffee basket and grounds as soon as
brewing is completed.
a. This also helps maintain coffee fl avor.
b. The urn’s lid can be used as a carrying tray
when disposing of wet coffee grounds.
• Before brewing a second time, allow urn to cool
and rinse it out.
5. MAINTENANCE TIPS
• Always pull the plug from the wall socket before
cleaning the urn.
• If the urn is subjected to heavy use, you will need
to de-scale it at regular intervals.
• Never immerse the urn in water or other liquid
cleaning products.
• Clean the urn with a damp cloth.
• Never use abrasive or caustic cleaning products.
• Always ensure the electrical connections remain
absolutely dry.
• When you drain off dirty water, leave the tap open
and rinse the urn with clean water.
6. SAFETY CUT OUT
Urns feature a boil dry protection system, which will
switch off the element if the water level is too low.
To reset the safety cut out, switch off and unplug
the urn and allow it to cool. Refi ll with cold water
and switch the urn back on again. The urn will au-
tomatically reboil.
7. POWER SUPPLY
• If the unit uses a mains supply, ensure that the
plug is securely inserted into the mains socket
and it is easily accessible.
• Protect the power lead from sharp objects, ex-
cessive heat and damp or wet locations.
• Check the power lead periodically, and replace if
damaged.
• Any repairs should only be carried out by a ful-
ly qualifi ed electrician or an authorized service
agent.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent or similar-
ly qualifi ed persons in order to avoid a hazard.
