Special fire-fighting protective equipment
Self-contained breathing apparatus, if applicable, wear heat protective clothing.
Additional Notes
Disperse explosive vapour-air mixtures with water spray or ex-protected ventilation
appliances. Containers that are threatened by fire are to be cooled with sprayed water
– Risk of bursting!
Filling the Burner
Screw the sealing cap with the wick holder counter clockwise to open the cap. Care-
fully pour ethyl alcohol in the glass container to approx. 1 - 2 cm under the top margin
in order to avoid overflowing when inserting the wick into the glass container.
Turn the sealing cap clockwise to tighten the cap. When tightening the cap, make sure
the sealing cap cannot get wedged. That way you avoid overflowing of ethyl alcohol, if
you intend to use the alcohol burner lying on the side.
Adjusting and extinguishing the flame
Before lighting up the burner you can adjust the flame intensity with the slotted shaft.
The more you turn the shaft up, the smaller is the flame. Please note: Do not touch
the shaft during operation, the shaft becomes very hot. If you intend to increase the
intensity of the flame during operation, use suitable pliers. Place the pliers on the shaft
– on the non-slotted part – and slide the shaft carefully up or down.
To extinguish the flame, carefully blow the flame out or use the metal cap that is at-
tached with the sealing cap. Please note: The metal cap quickly becomes hot. Do not
keep the cap for long time in your hand! After each use, place the metal cap on the
wick to prevent evaporation of ethyl alcohol.
3 possible using positions
According to the special design of the glass container you can use the burner on 3
different positions (see pictures). Make sure the sealing cap is screwed right, to avoid
overflowing of ethyl alcohol.
