c) Saving Stations
Manual saving
• Set the desired station with the manual or automatic search.
• Push the button MEM (4).
• In display (2), the display MEMORY flashes.
• Now push the station button on which you want to save the station.
• You can select the station buttons 1-10 directly.
• To reach the station buttons 11-20, push the button 10+ first (for selection of the range 11-20), and then
the corresponding button for the second digit.
Automatic saving
• As an alternative to manual saving of stations, you can also select automatic saving. This function auto-
matically assigns the station buttons with the stations that can be received.
• To trigger automatic saving, push the button APS (8).
• The display (2) shows SEARCHING during the process.
• To interrupt the process, push the button APS (8) again.
d) RDS Functions
The abbreviation RDS stands for Radio Data System, i.e. inaudible, additional information codes are trans-
mitted by the FM RDS station. With your tuner TU-1000, you have a device that is able to evaluate these
coded data that are transmitted by many radio stations.
Program Service (PS)
An information consists of up to 8 alphanumeric characters. It informs the receiver of which station is
currently being received. This information is displayed directly by the device (e.g. BAYERN 3).
Program Type (PTY)
This code gives the receiver information on the type of the transmitted programme (e.g. sports, classic,
news etc.). The listener can select his favourite programme more directly.
Some stations use the radio text function (RT) to transmit messages. The message then slowly scrolls
through the display from the right to the left.
A national disaster alarm can also be sent this way. However, not all the radio stations offer the PTY ser-
vice.
