Operation

•  Switch on the computer and wait until the OS has fully loaded.
•  Remove the protective cap from the USB connection socket on the product.
•  Connect the card reader to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. The OS will automatically

detect the card reader and display the inserted card as a drive on the user interface.

•

The LED indicator on the side of the housing will turn on and flash when a memory card is

inserted.

Inserting/removing a memory card

•  Insert the memory card into a suitable slot on your card reader. Ensure that the card is inserted

in the correct position. Do not force the card into the slot! Only one memory card should be

inserted into the card reader at once.

•  Before removing a memory card from the card reader (or disconnecting the card reader from

the computer), you must first wait for all read or write operations from or to the memory card

to be completed.

•  Before removing the memory card, take the necessary steps (eject or similar) to ensure that the

card is removed securely. Refer to the instructions in the user manual for your OS.

If the memory card is removed during reading or writing (or if the card reader is

disconnected), data on the memory card may be damaged and the card may even have

to be reformatted.

Reading from/writing to memory cards

Important:  SDXC  memory  cards  use  a  file  system  called  exFAT.  If  your  computer  is

running Windows

®

XP, you must install a corresponding update; otherwise, the OS will

not be able to detect SDXC memory cards! Visit the www.microsoft.com website and

search for the exFAT file system update. You will not be able to use SDXC memory cards

in conjunction with Windows

®

XP until you have installed this update! For Windows

Vista, you must install Service Pack 1 or higher to ensure that SDXC memory cards

are supported by the card reader. Newer Windows versions (Windows 7 or later)

automatically support the "exFAT" file system on SDXC memory cards.

•  A memory card inserted into the card reader is treated like a conventional removable media

drive. You can read data from (or write data to) a memory card just as if it were a USB hard

drive or USB stick.

•

The LED indicator flashes when data on the memory card is being accessed.

Please be aware that two cards cannot be detected and displayed by the operating

system at the same time. Only one card will be displayed.

Maintenance and cleaning

Never use aggressive and abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical

solutions, as these could damage the housing or even impair the functioning of the

product.

•  Always disconnect the product from the power supply (USB port) before cleaning it.
•  The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning. Use a soft,

antistatic and lint-free cloth to clean the device.

•  Do not immerse the product in water.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household

waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory

regulations.

You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
