Getting started

•  First screw the antenna tight on the radio receiver. The antenna can be adjusted to

various angles to improve connectivity.

•  Connect the provided AV cable with the Western socket (5).
•  Connect the AV cable to your monitor. The yellow BNC plug (2) provides the video

signal, the white cinch socket (3) the audio signal (provided the radio camera used

has an integrated microphone or is able to provide an audio signal).

The corresponding round plug of the wall plug transformer provided has to be con-

nected to the round low-voltage socket (4).

•  Plug  the  wall  plug  transformer  into  a  proper  AC  outlet.  The  LED  (6)  on  the  radio

receiver now lights blue.

•  The radio receiver is now ready for use.

Before the camera images appears on the connected monitor or DVR, you

first have to register a radio camera on the radio receiver (“Pairing”), see

next chapter.

Registering a radio camera on a radio receiver

•  After starting up the radio receiver the LED (6) should light up blue.
•  Press and hold the “PAIR” button (7) on the radio receiver for approx. one second

until the LED lights red.

•  Within the next 10 seconds, you have to press and hold the respective registration

key on your radio camera for approx. one second. Please consult the operating in-

structions for your radio camera.

If no radio camera is detected within these 10 seconds, you have to start the

registration process again.

•  If a radio camera has been found, its image appears on the monitor connected to the

radio receiver.

The LED (6) now quickly flashes blue. This indicates a flawlessly received signal.

If you wish to register another radio camera on the radio receiver, proceed

as described above.

Only one radio camera at a time can be registered on the radio receiver.

Range

The transmission range of the radio signals between radio camera and radio receiver

is up to 100 m under optimum conditions.

This transmission range data refers to the so-called “free-field range”. How-

ever, this ideal arrangement (e.g. radio camera and radio receiver on a plain,

even meadow without trees, houses etc.) never exists in practice.

Normally, the radio receiver is set up in the house and the radio camera on

a carport or mounted in a staircase.

Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range

can be guaranteed.

However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.

The range can sometimes be considerably reduced due to:

•  Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
•  Coated/vapour-deposited insulating glass panes, aluminium windows or the like
•  Trees, bushes, soil, rocks
•  Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators, steel doors)
•  Proximity to human bodies
•  Broad band interferences, e.g. in residential areas (routers, WLAN devices, mobile

phones, radio headphones etc.)

•  Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, monitors
•  Proximity to mains sockets, network cables
•  Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appli-

ances

Troubleshooting

No image of the radio camera on the video output

•  Register the radio camera on the radio receiver.
•  Lessen the distance between radio camera and radio receiver.
•  Adjust the antennae of the radio camera and radio receiver to a different direction.

The optimum range is achieved when the antennae are set up in parallel. You will

get the lowest range if the tips of the antennae are pointed towards each other.

•  Check the power supply of radio camera and radio receiver.

No sound

•  Check that the radio camera provides an audio signal (e.g. via an integrated micro-

phone).

•  Set the volume on your monitor to a higher level.

Image interferences

•  Lessen the distance between radio camera and radio receiver.
•  Align the antennae on the radio camera and radio receiver in a different direction.

The optimum range is achieved when the antennae are set up in parallel. You will

get the lowest range if the tips of the antennae are pointed towards each other.

Range too low

•  Please consult the chapter “Transmission Range”.

Maintenance and cleaning

The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for

any reason.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Dust can be very easily removed with

a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, since these may cause discolouration to

the housing.

Disposal

Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household waste.

Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-

tory regulations.

Declaration of Conformity (DOC)

We, Conrad Electronic, Klaus-Conrad-Straße 1, D-92240 Hirschau, hereby declare that

this product conforms to the fundamental requirements and the other relevant regula-

tions of the directive 1999/5/EC.
