• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. The plug-in power supply unit
also involves danger to life by electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it to use. This may take several hours.
• Do not apply force when inserting or removing the USB 2.0 cable into/from the USB 2.0 hub,
because the USB 2.0 sockets on the hub can become damaged. Such damage causes loss
of guarantee/warranty!
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an
authorised repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Connected devices
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
Operation
• Put the hub onto a flat and horizontal surface.
• Using the supplied USB cable, connect the USB hub to a vacant USB port of your PC. The LED on the
hub lights up indicating that the hub is now operational.
The hub functions in “Bus-Powered-Mode”. This means that the current of 500 mA supplied
by the computer via USB is divided among the four ports. The total current consumption of all
devices connected at any one time must not be higher than this value. Alternatively, you can
power the USB hub with the power supply. If the power supply is used, then each port could be
loaded with 500 mA.
• If you use the supplied power adapter, plug it first into a mains socket, then connect the power adapter’s
low-voltage plug to the hub’s power input socket. The LED on the hub lights up.
You can connect up to four USB devices to the hub. The hub supports Plug & Play and
hot-swapping (device drivers are automatically recognized and the devices themselves can be
removed while the OS is running).
If the product is not to be used, unplug the wall plug transformer.
Care and Cleaning
• Disconnect the product from the mains and connected devices before each cleaning.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can
cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Clean the product with a dry, fiber-free cloth. For stronger contamination, use a cloth that is slightly
moistened with lukewarm water.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory
guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

a) General Information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Connect the product to a mains socket that can be accessed easily.
• As power supply, only use the supplied power adapter.
• Only connect the power adapter to a normal mains socket which is connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on the power
adapter complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use
the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged
by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses
a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from electric
shock! First, switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, then
switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that all poles of the mains socket
are disconnected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty
wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way; do not use it any more.
Replace it with a wall plug transformer of the same design.
