• Connect your headset to the 3.5 mm headphone socket (10) on the control unit (22).
• The external speaker is automatically disabled. Slowly adjust the volume to a safe level. The audible signals will
only be played through the headset.
Connecting a headset reduces the power consumption and prolongs the battery life. It also makes it easier
to identify the change in pitch of the audible signals when a metal is detected.

Problem
Possible cause
Solution
False visual or acoustic signals.
The metal detector was
moved too quickly or at
an incorrect angle.
Move the detection probe (1) slowly and hold
the metal detector at the correct angle.
The sensitivity is too
high.
Use the
SENSITIVITY
dial (8) to adjust the
sensitivity.
The metal detector indicates a
different metal type or the pitch of
the audible tones is not the same.
There may be another
metal object in the
detection area.
Recover the object and search the same area
again.
The detector emits a
false signal for a heavily
oxidised metal.
Use the
SENSITIVITY
dial (8) to adjust the
sensitivity.
The audible signals are not
consistent in a fixed location.
The ground surrounding
the metal object
contains metal, causing
a halo effect.
Try adjusting the sensitivity using the
SENSITIVITY
dial (8).
