c)  Distance measurement (mode not displayed)

Press the button

M

to select the “distance measurement” mode (mode not displayed).

Point the distance meter to the spot to be measured and then press the button  . The

measured distance will be shown in the panel of the eyepiece.

The device will automatically turn off after a few seconds in order to save

energy. Reactivate the device by pressing the button   again.

d)  Continuous distance measurement (Scan)

In “distance measurement” mode press and hold the button   to select the scan

mode. “Scan” appears in the panel of the eyepiece after about 2 – 3 seconds. Continue

to press and hold the button  . When in scan mode, the laser is permanently activated

and the device will show the distances to the scanned objects one after another. The

scan mode will automatically stop after 20 successive distance measurements. The

distance measured last will be displayed in the eyepiece panel until the device turns

off automatically or until you select another mode.

e)  Distance measurement with fixed spot (Scan with flag symbol)

Using the distance measurement with fixed spot will allow you to exclude background

objects from the measurement when e.g. watching wildlife in the woods. Press the

button

M

to select the “Scan” mode (with flag symbol). Press and hold the button

to start measuring. Target an object until the device displays the distance. Continue

targeting the object while keeping the button   pressed. If you move or the targeted

object moves slowly, the device will show the distance between the viewer and the

object. Keep in mind that only a distance of more than approx. 5 m will be displayed.

f)  Fog mode (Fog)

The fog mode can compensate for any adverse effects caused by fog during distance

measurements in most of the cases. But keep in mind that the fog mode will not work

when measuring the distance against thick fog, since the fog will split the radiation.

The fog mode is intended as an aid for light fog or weather with poor visibility. Use the

button

M

to select the fog mode. “Fog” will appear in the panel of the eyepiece. Then

press the button   to start measuring.

g)  Speed measurement (Speed)

The speed mode measures the time an object needs to move from one point to

another. Use the button

M

to select the speed measurement mode. “Speed” appears

in the panel of the eyepiece. Press and hold the button

M

 for approx. 3 seconds in

order to select measuring units KM/H (kilometers per hour) or M/H (miles per hour).

The measuring unit will change accordingly. Press the button  . The targeting frame

in the eyepiece panel starts flashing. Target a moving object and keep the distance

meter pointed at the targeted object for a few seconds. After approx. 3

–

4 seconds the

measured speed will be displayed in the panel of the eyepiece.

Carry strap

If needed, attach the carry strap to the eyelet (4) on the right side underneath the

eyepiece.
