8. Connection and operation
a) Connection to the TV or screen
The Android TV-Box offers 2 different options for image output. One is the video output
and the other the HDMI
®
output. If your TV/screen has an HDMI
®
input, we recommend
using this at all times.
For playback of 4K contents, your TV must also support 4K.
Always use an HDMI
®
cable with version 1.4 or higher that is specified for
playback in 4K resolution.
For playing back 3D films, you also need at least an HDMI
®
cable of version 1.4
or higher.
Connection via HDMI
®
:
• Connect one side of the HDMI
®
cable to the HDMI
®
socket

of the TV-Box.
• Now connect the other end of the cable to a free HDMI
®
port of your TV or screen.
• Switch on your TV or screen and switch to the right HDMI
®
input. For this, observe the
operating instructions of your TV or screen.
The audio signal is transferred via HDMI
®
as well. If you operate the product
on a screen that has no speaker or analogue audio output, you may instead
use the digital optical audio output. For this, observe chapter 8 d) of these
instructions.
