Installation
For outdoor use we recommend to choose a location that is protected from
rain (e.g. under the eaves) to prevent the formation of droplets on the cam-
era’s front panel that will cause a distorted and unusable image.
The camera is equipped with a pre-mounted wall bracket. This is to be tightened to a
suitable place using three screws. Use appropriate dowels depending on the surface.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that cables or
wires are not damaged.
If the connection cable should be laid out hidden, a corresponding big opening should
be drilled underneath the wall bracket, to insert the plug. The wall bracket then covers
this opening and protects the cable for mischievous damage.
Alternatively, the cable may be lead outward via a small opening on the side of the wall
mount. Protect the cable with a suitable cable conduit or the like.
The connection plugs are not waterproof and should be kept indoors, other-
wise they will corrode.
Place the camera as desired and fasten it with the delivered Allen keys.
The camera should not be pointed directly at bright sources of light or the sun, since
the image will be overdriven by this.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors at the end:
• Cinch plug: With this the video signal (PAL) is available.
• Circular socket: At this socket the external power supply is to be connected.
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors may
only be placed in a location that is protected from humidity (in dry interior
areas). Otherwise, the connectors will corrode.
Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera in a precise manner in order to be able to monitor the
desired image section.
In darkness the IR LEDs are automatically activated. However, the LEDs are not vis-
ible to the human eye. Please bear in mind that at night coloured image reproduction
changes into black and white monochrome representation.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for
any reason.
Occasionally clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front lens. Use a
dry, clean and soft cloth, moistened with water. Do not rub too much to avoid scratch
marks on the glass lens, deteriorating the image quality.
Never point the water jet of a garden hose or a high pressure cleaner at the camera;
do not use aggressive cleaning agents either.
Tips and hints
• Do not operate the camera outdoors without using the sun screen cover, since this
will cause overheating and damage of the camera.
• Install the camera so that it can not be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be installed using a
plastic or metal pipe.
• Depending on the mounting location, make sure you use the suitable lightning pro-
tector (e.g. installation on a pole).
• Increased cable lengths result in deterioration of the video signal. In this case, use
an appropriate amplifier.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop and thus, the
operating voltage for the camera is no longer sufficient. This may lead to stripes in
the image or to a signal loss. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section to
reduce the voltage drop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in the household
waste!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
