Step 3. Start U-Boot
Power on the RZ/V2M Evaluation Kit and start U-Boot. After a few seconds, U-Boot will count down. Press the
enter key to enter U-Boot command mode during this count down.
Note: Before connecting the AC adapter to an electrical outlet, make sure that the SW1 (Base) for the
power supply is turned off.
Step 4. Execute the script file for eMMC writing
Open and execute the script
file “eMMC_writer_<version_number>.ttl” on Tera Term. (Menu > Control >
Macro) After that, the following text box will appear. Select the same number as the version of the Linux
package you use. Enter the appropriate number and click OK.
Notes: 1. Close a log file if you use the log function on Tera term before you run this script file.
2. <version_number> indicates the Linux package version number. Please use a file with the same number as
the version of the Linux Package you are using.

lick “OK” to start the writing process if there is no problem.

Writing of 1st loader, 2nd loader, and U-boot to the eMMC will start. Also, a log file eMMC_FlashWriter<time
stamp>.log will be generated and stored in the same directory with the eMMC_writer_<version_number>.ttl
file. When this process completes successfully, the message
“eMMC Flash Writer completed” will appear on
the terminal software.
