REPEATER
Device Description
A repeater increases the range of radio remote control
devices. The employment of more than a single
repeater should be avoided.
Installation Location
After teaching the repeater, it should be plugged into
a wall outlet somewhere within the current range of
the radio remote control (preferably in the center of
this range).
Example
The central vacuum unit is located in the basement
of the house. As of the 3rd floor, the transmitter is no
longer able to turn the central vacuum unit on or off.
Without a repeater, radio control only operates in the
basement and the 2
nd
floor. In this case, a repeater
should be plugged into a power outlet somewhere
near the center of the area between the basement
and the 2nd floor, e.g., in the ground floor.
- Up to six transmission units can be connected, that
is, taught, with every repeater.
- Attempting to teach the 7
th
transmitter unit will
overwrite the information in the 6
th
transmitter unit.
- The following teaching procedures must be carried
out prior to installing the repeater:
- Teach the transmitter at the repeater;
- Teach the repeater at the central vacuum unit.
Teaching the Repeaters
- In order to correctly teach the transmitter, two valid
signals must be received in sequence.
- If the second signal is not received within
30 seconds of the first, teaching will be cancelled.
This is indicated by a repeater LED flashing rapidly
for 3 seconds. Teaching will need to be repeated.
Teaching the Transmitter Data to the Repeater
1. Plug the repeater into the wall outlet.
2. Hold the suction hose handle or the manual trans-
mitter near the repeater housing as shown in the
illustration (refer to Fig. 11).
3. Press and hold down the OFF button on the trans-
mitter until the yellow LED on the repeater goes on.
4. Move the transmitter away from the repeater and
press the OFF button again.
The yellow repeater LED goes out. The transmitter
has been saved.
5. Repeat the above steps to teach additional trans-
mitters.
6. Unplug the repeater from the wall outlet.
