CONNECTION TO THE AMPLIFIER
The tonearm external phono leads must be connected to a
suitable pre-amp phono stage.
Connect as follows:
Red
= right channel
Black
= left channel
If your amplifier does not have an integrated phono stage, you will
require an external phono stage.

SETTING UP THE RB220 TONEARM
Move the Bias Slider
(A)
to Zero, carefully remove the stylus guard
from the Carbon cartridge.
Balance the arm by slowly screwing the balance weight
(C)
on to
the balance weight shaft
(D)
until the stylus is floating 1 mm clear
of a record. Once you have found the balancing point the required
tracking downforce can be applied. Half a turn of the balance
weight (180 degrees) = 1 gram of downforce. The suggested
downforce for the supplied Carbon Cartridge is 2 grams
(B)
.
Therefore, the balance weight should be rotated 360 degrees anti-
clockwise to apply the required 2 grams of downforce. Use the
plastic plugs on the balance weight as a positional guide.
If you are using a different cartridge model you will need to adjust
the amount of turns according to your manufacturer’s suggested
tracking weight guidelines (each half turn = 1 gram).
MANUAL SPEED CHANGE
You can change playing speed by simply removing the glass platter
and moving the drive belt between either the 331/3 rpm or 45 rpm
wheels of the drive pulley, as shown.
