The trigger type selected for a datastream defines the particular mechanism that determines
when the 130-MC collects data. The trigger types available on the 130-MC are as follows:

Continuous trigger
o
Vote trigger
o
External trigger
o
Time Trigger
Each trigger has its own set of parameters that determines the exact conditions under which the
130-MC records data.
Detailed explanations and methods for using all 130-MC parameters, including data streams and
triggers, are provided in subsequent sections in this manual,
Command Line Theory
and
Reference
manuals.
REF TEK pre-sets and tests the hardware of each 130-MC before you receive the unit to ensure
that it performs as specified. The 130-MC does not require hardware adjustments for normal
operations. You may use a 130-MC as a stand-alone system, or you may use a network of many
130-MC units deployed over a survey site. During field operations, the 130-MC can store data in
its own internal Compact
Flash™ card(s). The 130
-MC has two ports (Ethernet and Telemetry)
that allow connection to networks locally or remotely (by radio, telephone, or satellite relays).
Some networks include both local and remote interconnections.
Power Considerations
This section describes current draw, power load, and general power supply considerations for
the 130-MC, peripherals, and subsystems.
The 130-MC operates on nominal 15-volt DC power (10 to 15 VDC). This range allows a 130-MC
to be powered from the included lead acid battery(s) that can be charged from either the
included AC power source or through its internal battery charger. An input diode drop is required
to isolate the battery(s) from the charger and detect the loss of building AC.
To ensure continual, uninterrupted power to your 130-MC and peripherals, use a well regulated
power supply that can deliver at least 1.25 times the maximum current that the load of your
combined system components requires. Be sure to account for the cable resistance (especially if
you build your own cables). Power for an external modem is available from the NET port
connector (5 VDC and 12 VDC).
